‘Twas The Night Before the Studio Tour
‘Twas December 1st, and all across Guemes
Fifty artists weren’t sleeping, not even the famous;
Their work was set up in studios with care,
In hopes that the shoppers soon would be there.
The buyers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of artwork danced in their heads;
All those who planned and drew out a map,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.
When out by the Hall, there arose such a clatter,
The kitchen crew had just dropped a large platter.
Thank goodness their snack goal was way more than met
There still would be plenty to raise money for GET.
The folks start to gather, but just where should they go?
They look for a leader. They look high, they look low.
And finally what should appear at the Hall
But someone declaring for one and for all.
“Now Brewer-Peters! Now Roare! Now Petrich, Riley!
On Chambers! On Rosellini! On Horneman times three!
Come visit these gals out on Paradise Lane
With Mimnaugh and Gladish, they make quite the gang.”
Ceramics, knives, paintings, soap, cards, and jewelry
Wood, metal, fibers, painted rocks, luminaries,
Photography, wood, and a wet cyanotype
This Studio Tour will live up to the hype.
What better way to explore Guemes Isle
Than a mountain driveway that’s almost a mile.
The view that you’ll get from inside Atlas Arts
Can only be topped by what’s in your cart.
A glass blowing demo up at Beacon Glass?
Is it worth the trip out? You bet your sweet a**!
What else am I missing? There has to be more!
There will even be items for sale at the Store.
Gather your family and head to the Hall
Mary Lascelles will take quick portraits of all.
Buy perfect items that don’t ever fail,
And support your library and ferry trail.
Thirteen artists from Spirit Gall’ry this year.
Bringing awareness to what they hold dear.
It’s at the church, titled “Till All Voices Are Heard”
They hope that this show will help spread the word.
I hope you’re intrigued, and you’re all feeling beckoned.
Get out your calendar and reserve the 2nd.
Prepare to be greeted at the studios and Hall
By those of us yelling “Happy Shopping To All!”
