A Plein Air drawing class is planned as the weather warms. Twice a month beginning in May, likely on a weekend. Participating artists would meet at a designated location having to do with Guemes history, the marsh, old cabins along north beach, old barns, and more would be great subjects. Artists would work in any portable medium and capture varied perspectives on historic Island subject matter. Of course, Covid-19 protocols are followed.

“There’s something magical about Plein Air art. Have you ever wanted to capture the magic of a moment? Nowadays most of us have a phone in our pocket, but a Plein Air artist has only minutes to sketch and transpose the essence of that moment onto the canvas. A great artist can capture the light and movement at the precise time, bringing that moment to life, as no other style can. Essentially, Plein Air is poetry for your eyes.” -Unknown
