"The best thing about watercolor is that a lot of happy accidents occur."

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am a Guemes artist with several creative interests; raku firing of ceramic sculpture, wood sculpture, and watercolor painting.

California State University at Long Beach was where I went to college starting in Illustration, then graduating with a major in Fine Arts.  At Claremont Graduate School in California I pursued more painting studies and began studying ceramic sculpture with Betty Davenport Ford who excelled in wildlife sculpture.

In Oregon I belonged to a creative group of artists, R.A.C.O. Raku Artists of Central Oregon, who specialized in firing with the Japanese glazing and firing technique.  We had two shows a year held in the Environmental Center in Bend, Oregon.  To be juried into the High Desert Museum show was a highlight of each year.

On Guemes, watercolor painting has taken the lead in art pursuits.
