“Blowing glass connects people with their joy.”

We believe that blowing glass connects people with their joy. Our goal at Beacon Glass Center is to create a small community arts center that is focused on education, art making, residencies, and cultural healing. Our focus is community outreach and connectivity.

We ask ourselves, how can a glass blowing studio be a hub to develop the lives of individuals, as well as benefiting the community, while being responsible in our relationship with the environment?

In 2020 we have done work with individuals and their loved ones’ ashes to create small memorial events and mementos.

We have also hosted small classes to support the home schooling efforts in our local community.

We have sought to collaborate with local artists at a safe physical distance, while honoring our widespread community response to this global pandemic.

The Beacon Glass center has been fiscally sponsored as a nonprofit by Shunpike Arts Organization in Seattle since June of 2017. We had our grand opening in October of 2019.
