Enrollment is now open for the Guemes Island Winter Art Studio Tour scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

TOUR EVENT

The Winter 2023 Guemes Island Studio Tour, in Skagit County, Washington, is a free self-guided tour of artists’ studios which will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from 10 am – 4 pm. This event provides Guemes Island artists with an opportunity to feature their work, processes, and studio spaces, highlighting the richness and diversity of the visual arts to be found on Guemes Island.

CALENDAR

August 1: Call for Artists Opens
 
September 30: Deadline for registering. Drop a payment to GICCA into the center mailbox across the street from the hall with your name. This allows us to confirm our expense budget for the event. 
 
October 22: Minor edits to descriptions and information accepted until this date.
 
November 1: Roll out marketing materials and event map.
 
December 2: – Guemes Island Winter Art Studio Tour, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Am I eligible to participate?

ELIGIBILITY
• Open to artists who create art on Guemes Island; residents and property owners.
• All visual art media will be accepted.
• All work shown must be the artist’s original work.

• Participating artists must make their studio available to the public on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

How do I sign up for the studio tour?

Send us an email to indicate interest and preferred location!
 
Fill out this REGISTRATION FORM after reading the TERMS & CONDITIONS. Deadline for application and registration fee (payable by check, cash, or Venmo) to be received Guemes Island Art: September 30, 2023
 
Email the form to GuemesIslandArt@gmail.com or mail to: Guemes Island Art, 7549 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, WA 98221, or drop off at the middle mailbox located across from the hall. 
 
We also need some photos emailed to us of your work but the deadline is flexible. The most effective marketing is showing your newest creations. 

If I'm not listed on Guemes Island Art, can I still participate?

If you are not listed on “GuemesIslandArt.Org” but have that island connection then YES, this is for you! Any Guemes Islander may participate.

How much is it to participate?

We are requesting a $25 donation to GICCA. A smaller registration amount may be contributed by any artist who cannot afford the recommended fee.

 

This suggested fee will help defray the cost of marketing this event to the public including signs, maps, flyers, posters, costs for posting in publications.

 

Indicate “Studio Tour” and mail fee to: GICCA, 7549 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, WA 98221; or hand delivered to the middle mailbox located across the street.

I want to just display my art and not sell it. Can I do that?

Yes! When you sign up please indicate “no sales”.

I don't have a studio, how can I still participate?

No studio… no problem! A temporary set-up for artists who live on Guemes Island and who do not have a studio is available through the application process:

  • Guemes Island Community Hall, 7549 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, Washington, 98221
  • Guemes Island Community Church, immediately to the south. This is also the
    location of the Spirit Art Gallery. Please go to website for information and

How can I be added to Guemes Island Art?

Interested in joining the website? We offer Artist Pages without cost or just a directory listing if you prefer. We update the information once each month, and welcome new artists as well as refreshing the content for current ones. Send us an email for more information!
